Sirius: A True Animal Hero
I have a dog called Sirius. He is an Alsatian. He is obedient and loyal.
One day, while I was swimming at my pal`s home, I forgot to do my warm ups as it was a hot day
and I wanted to get into the cool water as soon as possible. I`d also taken lunch a while ago.
I swam happily in the water, ignoring the safety rules. Suddenly,my leg was racked with
pain. "OW! OW! SOMEONE HELP ME!" I shouted loudly. My friend was getting her swimming suit on and did not hear
me. (Her bedroom was farthest away from the pool.)
Luckily, Sirius, who had been watching me from the shade, leapt in. I knew that he disliked getting
wet. (I`m not pretending, dear reader! A rather unusual thing for an
Alsatian.) He grabbed me by the scruff of my swim suit and dragged me out of the water. I fell onto the floor with a sigh of relief even though my leg still throbbed with pain.
My father, who had only just heard the din, dashed out of the house and helped me get up onto my feet. He rubbed my leg
gently. Soon, I felt much better. I hugged Sirius and praised him profusely.
Sirius barked happily. I managed a laugh. I think Sirius deserves a
medal: TRUE ANIMAL HERO.
